Ingredients:
(Serving size – 1 piece of fish. Yield 3 servings.)
- 3 pieces mackerel, deskinned
- (Blend together with 1⁄4 cup water)
- 6 red chillies
- 6 shallots
- 1 thinly sliced ginger
- 1 garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 piece asam gelugor
- 1⁄4 teaspoon sugar
- 2 cups water
- Polygonum leaf (daun kesum), from 1 stalk
Method:
- Cook blended ingredients with salt, turmeric powder, asam gelugor, sugar and water over medium fire for 20 minutes.
- Add fish and cook for 10 – 15 minutes
- Add daun kesum for flavour.
