Asam Pedas

Ingredients:

(Serving size – 1 piece of fish. Yield 3 servings.)

3 pieces mackerel, deskinned

 

(Blend together with 14 cup water)
6 red chillies
6 shallots
1 thinly sliced ginger
1 garlic

 

1 teaspoon salt
12 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 piece asam gelugor
14 teaspoon sugar
2 cups water
Polygonum leaf (daun kesum), from 1 stalk

Method:

  1. Cook blended ingredients with salt, turmeric powder, asam gelugor, sugar and water over medium fire for 20 minutes.
  2. Add fish and cook for 10 – 15 minutes
  3. Add daun kesum for flavour.
